Presentation Title: Rope Life: From Theory to Practice

Description: This presentation examines why suspension rope life has become a growing challenge in modern traction elevators, especially as compact gearless and MRL systems age into modernization. It connects the history of smaller sheaves and tighter rope paths to the engineering fundamentals of bending fatigue, then translates EN 81 and Feyrer rope-life theory into practical guidance for sheave sizing, groove selection, rope construction, installation, inspection, maintenance, and modernization decisions.
